AI Image Generator
Use integrated generative AI functionality to generate images for publications. This can help you to quickly and easily design your publications, adding background and custom graphics based on a natural language prompt. Simply enter your prompt into the image generator to return an image.
Use AI Generate an Image
Before you begin
Currently, you are only offered the AI Image option if your enabled Default LLM Engine is OpenAI. Your administrator selects the LLM to use in the AI Settings page of the Admin Console.
Generate a Background image
A background image is created with the same size and dimensions as the page. If you send this newly created image to the back of the page, it becomes a whole-page background picture.
From the Design ribbon:
- Click AI Image > Generate Background.
- Describe the image that you want to generate in the text field (purple highlight below).
- Click Generate or hit Enter on the keyboard.
- Optionally, right-click the image and select Send to Back on the context menu to place it behind any other items on the page.
After a short delay, the generated image is added to the current page as a "background" (it fills the whole page).
Generate a custom graphic
You can also generate images that you can use on your page like any other image. The default image size is 300 x 300 px.
From the Design ribbon:
- Click AI Image.
- Describe the image that you want to generate in the text field (red highlight below).
- Click Generate or hit Enter on the keyboard.
After a short delay, the generated image is added to the current page. In this example, the given input was "abstract shapes in bright colors":
Working With Generated Images
As with other content items, generated images can be resized, repositioned, and rotated. This is done by selecting the image and dragging the container handles or rotation tool (green highlight above), or by using the tools in the Component ribbon.
Right-clicking on the image opens several functions on the context menu:
- Click Action: Configure the action that should occur when this image is clicked at runtime (configure a dynamic jump button to run "on click").
- Set Tooltip: Configure a dynamic tooltip for the image.
- Clipboard Tools: Cut, copy, and paste the image. Note: The paste options allow you to place the pasted image in the same position as the copied or cut image (the Original Position), or in the position currently indicated by your cursor (the Cursor Position).
- Delete: Delete the image.
- Alignment and Formatting: Align the image on the slide, and send it forward or backward.
- Open in Illustrate: Open the image in illustrate, where you can use it to create and share dynamic infographics.
- Make Illustration Shareable: By default, the image is saved locally and not to the content manager. If you want to re-use the image in another presentation, publication, or visual, you need to save it to the content manager to make it "shareable."
- Go to Item Location: If the item has been saved to the content manager, jump to its saved location.
Warning: AI-generated assets are generated from public domain algorithms, which can produce both erroneous and inconsistent or random results. Use at your own risk.
